TUPU
En la cultura aymara, el alfiler topus o tupu de cuchara (kolke kuchara), amarra la manta tradicional a la altura del hombro. Es una pieza de orden práctico y a la vez, ornamental. Pese a tener forma de cucharas nunca se utilizaban para comer, simbolizaban abundancia y jerarquía dentro del hogar. Los tupus siempre se ocupaban en pares. Las mujeres tenían un par de uso cotidiano y otro para las festividades. En su concavidad tenían diseños de toros, flores,y lunas menguantes haciendo referencia a la fuerza del toro, la belleza de las flores andinas y la fertilidad de ciclo lunar.

In Aymara culture, the topus or tupu (kolke kuchara) is a long, ornamental and practical spoon-shaped pin for fixing the traditional wrap at the shoulder. Tupus are always used in pairs. Women generally have one set for daily use and another for special occasions. Tupus symbolize status and plenty in the household, and so despite taking the form of cutlery, they are never used to eat with. The bowls of the spoons depict flowers, bulls, and the waning moon conveying the notion of strength beauty and fertility.
